Learning to Love Change

sunset-heart-sandBy Angel Carlton

We embrace “opportunities” but reject change. Change is merely an opportunity we have yet to discover. Change is simply our higher self, reminding us to live our magnificence to create a life of significance.   To fully embrace this truth, it’s helpful to first understand the reason behind why things change in our lives and the struggles we have to endure. Let us become aware of how is change generated in our lives so that we may learn to embrace its meaning and take from it the lessons of love change delivers.

The first step toward embracing change is changing your perspective toward it. Change, simply put, is to alter, modify, or make to become different. We know change is happening in the world, in our lives, and in the lives of everyone around us. But how well are we coping with these changes? Just take a look at the news, the violence, stress and anger all around us, locally and globally. According to a study conducted by Forbes, 45% of society is living under “extreme stress”! That’s nearly half of your circle of friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors who are on the brink of a breakdown. Surely this is an indication we desperately need a way to adapt to our changing world—and sooner than later! It’s time we begin to see these changes as opportunities to gain a better understanding, learn from them and utilize the lessons so that we become a better and stronger society. Let us no longer look at ourselves as victims in an increasingly destructive world, often with a sense of helplessness. Instead, let us stand up, be strong, and move forward as a driver of change, a generator of positivity, in hopes of changing the focus on the lens of which we view the world.

What generates change?

Understanding how that change is generated will help you get to the core of what the purpose, lesson, or gift each change or circumstance delivers. There are three categories to best describe how change occurs within our lives: from Happenstance, through Intention, or by Default. Recognizing which category each one falls into is the primary key to embarking on the path to positive change.

The first generator of change, Happenstance, is when change just seems to happen, be it negative or positive. Some people grow and evolve without even being aware of the changes that are causing the growth. Some of them seem to have the “Midas touch,” where everything they touch turns to gold; they flow through life, usually the happy-go-lucky types that have a positive attitude about everything. Then there are some people who seem to have “bad luck”— those whom simply can’t buy a break and forever find themselves in a rut. So while we are all creating our own experiences, some people know it and others walk through life completely clueless about this amazing power we all possess.

The next group contains those who change with deliberate Intention. They are determined to seek ways to improve their lives and strive daily for a more fulfilled life. These are the individuals who have realized there is more to life than going to work, making money, sleeping, and eating. These folks realize there is a greater vision, and as a result of change they’ve had a glimpse of life’s truer purpose many times through the eyes of change. This glimpse has sometimes been referred to as a “spiritual awakening.” When this occurs, it’s like the healthiest obsession one could possibly imagine. Everything in life becomes a quest to conquer more of that same feeling of clarity, truth, and meaning.

Finally, change is generated by Default. These people usually have an unexpected experience or traumatic event that forces them to wake up and see life through different lenses. They grow because they have to. For example, the death of a loved one will often force people into a life change. It’s understandably not a pleasant experience, but those who discover a healthy coping mechanism will move through these unhappy times and emotionally be stronger on the other side.

These are what promotes change in our lives…Happenstance, Intention, Default and when we Embrace change, (HIDE is the acronym) life truly does become an adventure. There really is no reason to “hide” behind change any longer. Change is what gives us the ultimate human experience. Become a master of change and your life will become a masterpiece.

How to create Sustainable Change in 2017

newlife-oldlife-453x160

Lose weight. Start that business. Finish that project. Find my soul mate. Become more prosperous. Volunteer more. Find my calling. Become a better spouse, parent, friend, etc. Are any of these on your list of intentions for 2017?

This is the time of year when we put all kinds of pressure on ourselves to make a new year’s resolution and hope with all out might that this is the year we’ll stick to it. If you are like me, you have failed miserably in the past at sustaining New Year’s resolutions. Until now that is! Recently, I discovered by going through a series of catastrophic changes in my life that we just are not properly trained on how to create positive, sustainable change. In fact, experts reveal that only 8% of people actually achieve their desired goal. After reading this, my curiosity got to work and I began researching how these folks accomplish success at navigating change.

Here is what my research uncovered:

  1. Envision a clear and concise goal with emotional electricity attached to it.
  2. Generate a realistic timeline with a workable plan and action steps.
  3. Hand write the goal down on several pieces of paper.
  4. Post the goals in highly visible areas (home, car, work, on personal devices, etc.)
  5. Visit these goals and envision the end result daily with that same level of emotional enthusiasm.
  6. Share the goal with someone you trust, who will support you and hold you accountable.
  7. Report your progress to that person weekly, monthly, etc.
  8. Celebrate every success along the way.

That’s the practical approach to making your resolution a reality. However, some people need to do some inner work to truly transform their lives. This was my personal experience. And during this time I discovered a six-stage process in the transformation cycle. In fact, I wrote a book on this topic entitled Staying Afloat During Tides of Change; How to Navigate the Six Stages of Transformation. When I combined effective goal-setting (as described above) with the six-stage process, my life path became a superhighway. So, if deep transformation is what you are seeking, then here are the 6 Stages of Transformation to help you succeed:

  1. Realize – Become the vision, outline specific details of what you look, act and feel like in this place.
  2. Release – Something needs to be let go so that we can create space for the new to arrive. (Behaviors, relationship, job, etc.)
  3. Rebound – Change usually generates stress regardless of how badly you want it. That is why it is vitally important to allow yourself time to rest, recover, rejuvenate and give yourself ample time to adapt to your new normal.
  4. Reinvent – This is the stage when you put your new vision into action by taking those first steps and begin practicing the new and improved you; courage and perseverance become your best companions.
  5. Resurrect – Once you begin mastering the behaviors that are in alignment with your highest self, you eventually become that person. This is when your new normal begins to feel comfortable and you’re on your way to your destiny.
  6. Respond – Anytime you have reached a place of your true purpose, there is a responsibility to help others. By helping other people get to where you are, you will automatically sustain and reinforce the change you encountered.

Wishing you a happy and healthy new year filled with abundance and all the positive change your heart desires. You can do it! I believe in you. After all, the ability to change is the greatest gift we have been given. Visit me at AngelCarlton.com or PowerUpPeople.net!

Political Transformation is Underway

american-flag-images-12As I entered the polling booth, I felt great excitement for the incredible opportunity to cast my vote for our nation’s next leader.   As an American Citizen, it is one of the honors we have to be a part of change and propel our country in a direction that will serve the good of all.  At least that is the idea behind this right.

This past election didn’t exactly take us down Easy Street as it generated much separation in our society.  It saddens me to see that since the election, this separation seems to have worsened, heightened into anger and provoked violence amongst our cities.  This is certainly not the change I anticipated when I cast my vote. I am certain anyone who is reading this Conscious Community Magazine feels the same heaviness in their hearts.

Without getting too much into politics, I want to first say this, it is precisely these moments in time that propel the greatest transformation.  As difficult as it is to watch the world seemingly fall apart, we must realize this one thing…all change happens for a reason.  Specifically, to move these lower vibrational energies into the direction of the next highest vision we have of ourselves or, in this case, our country.  We as a global citizenship are experiencing a major shift and it is playing out its course in scenarios such as this, the latest US Election.  Sit back and see for yourself, the transformation of our political system is underway.  Not just in American, but across the globe.

You see, we cannot build a beautiful new structure of our government on the current cracked (some say corrupt) foundation it has become. So, what will naturally take place is a “breaking down” process in the form (or illusion) of destruction, in order for rebuilding to occur.   It doesn’t matter who is in the White House, rest assured this would occur with whomever won the election.

Although I realize it may be difficult to do at times like this, I invite you to lift yourself up to a higher perspective.  Do this so that you can see this is part of the landscape for the reinventing phase, leading us to the next greatest version of our country. Then, when we can observe the shifting sands of our political structure from our higher selves, a peaceful knowing that all will be fine begins to envelope our hearts, fear gently subsides, we can begin to embrace the change that is happening and finally allow this process to complete it’s course.

I believe that all events in life occur for our good.  And isn’t it cool that you chose to be here during these exciting, historic and epic transformational times for our world.  You are here at this time for a reason.  My question to you is, how will you contribute, respond and show up to these events?  Will you choose to complain and feed the negativity or will you consciously raise the awareness for others by observing without judgment, understanding the process of change and nurturing the fears in others who are too scared to see the light through the darkness?

If I were to cast a ballot for positive change, I would vote for you to become the next greatest change-maker!  I believe we will prevail if we stick together, engage with each other as humanity intended and serve one another selflessly.

Gandhi’s words sing true today more than ever before, “You must be the change you wish to see in this world.”

Wisdom for Wayshowers

IMG_0173

Most people would consider this type of behavior normal, but for me it was quite unusual.  My teenage son, whom I adore more than life itself, was acting a bit peculiar.   Now parents of teen aged children and even those who specialize in teenage behavior, would confess, all kids that age begin to test the waters by doing things like “talking back” to their parents, speaking with sarcasm, you know those “smart mouth” responses to the simplest questions and even being defiant saying things like, “No, I don’t want to” when asked to do a particular chore.

For me, this particular day was an awakening.  I  began to notice our relationship of that special mom-son bond begin to change and not in a way I felt was healthy.  He felt very distant and his words lacked the kind tone I have become accustomed to over the 15 years of his…

The Age of the Human Business

Business traditionally has always been about the bottom line, the results, the numbers! Today, many companies are struggling to keep their head above water, so they do the obvious, focus on more sales and cut expenses to survive the world of cut-throat corporate competition.  This is precisely what is driving the shift that is happening in the global corporate arena where many enterprises are either crumbling or being acquired.  Times like these are forcing companies to take another approach at how they run their business, treat their employees and how their best practices impact the consumer, communities and the world as a whole.

Of course, everyone is in business to make money, however, those companies that focus on the human aspect first, literally strive in the revenue department as well.  Lets take a different perspective on “numbers” in the workplace.  Reminding business to take an important look at the human aspect of their business can greatly impact productivity which will naturally and effectively drive results toward success.  Every business that has employees, serves humans with products or services is essentially in the “people business” and can benefit from the human-business model.

The human-business is about bringing the focus back on the people that contribute the the success of the company.  This applies to employees who are doing the daily grind as well as those who are creating a positive brand image to the public.  Companies that appreciate this dedication, not only recognize these efforts, but continually reward them for a job well done.  Many companies are “putting away the hammer” which is leading by fear and intimidation and realizing there is a more sustainable way to maintain employee satisfaction, improve company morale, increase productivity and employee retention.  The companies that empower their people will continue to show an upward trend in success, especially as the next generation enters the workforce.  But more on generational differences in future blogs.

This human-business model is anything but new.  There are many companies pioneering this concept and the results speak for themselves.  For example, Whole Foods, who has consistently earned an annual growth rate of nearly 14% since 2002, has a “Higher Vision” statement that reads, “With great courage, integrity and love – we embrace our responsibility to co-create a world where each of us, our communities and our planet can flourish. All the while, celebrating the sheer love and joy of food.”  How many companies are brave enough to put the word “love” in their vision?

Companies like Disney who have proven tremendous global growth believe “Acting responsibly is an integral part of our brand. It strengthens the connection we have with consumers, makes our company a more desirable place to work, and helps us attract the very best and brightest to join our global cast. It builds goodwill in the communities in which we operate.”  Its about the way they treat their employees, their customers and how it impacts the community and the key to Disney’s success is consistency!

IBM is at the top of the list of “people businesses” as Sam Palmisano, former President and CEO, stated in an interview with Harvard Business Review, “If there’s no way to optimize IBM through organizational structure or by management dictate, you have to empower people while ensuring that they’re making the right calls the right way. And by ‘right,’ I’m not talking about ethics and legal compliance alone; those are table stakes. I’m talking about decisions that support and give life to IBM’s strategy and brand, decisions that shape a culture. That’s why values, for us, aren’t soft. They’re the basis of what we do, our mission as a company…You’ve got to create a management system that empowers people and provides a basis for decision making that is consistent with who we are at IBM.” Now here is a leader who deserves kudos for creating such a corporate culture and really knows the basis for success.

You can begin to feel the essence of these corporations who have a mission to serve people first and mention a mention the bottom line, but realize these are the behaviors that impact substantial results.  Those that have a people-based business are sustaining success and are showing us another way to accomplish economic gain. What drives this people-intensive culture is primarily putting people and community first. There are four components of the human-business model and its all about the people, proper leadership strategies, cultivating a culture of growth and support, exercising employee potential and giving back.

1.  Leadership ~ Positive leadership practices which essentially means treating people the way they want to be treated.  Its about recognizing individuals in the workplace that contribute to the success of the company in some way.  Leadership that actively seeks out these valuable opportunities, makes noticeable mention and provides positive feedback to reinforce those behaviors realize this is the powerful vehicle that drives productivity.

2.  Culture ~ Creating a workplace environment where people feel supported, safe, trusted, and know the company has their back, leads to a workforce that is more creative. Those who work within such a culture voluntarily utilize their full potential which inspires growth on a personal level and the company certainly gets their money’s worth.  One approach to changing a corporate culture is to Include the employees in creating a mission and vision statement or “agreements” for the type of workplace they want to be a part of.  When people are a part of developing the process they are more likely to live by it; as well as being extremely empowering and highly effective.

3.  Potential ~ Understanding and utilizing each employees’ natural gifts is also essential to the growth of any business. Not only does this give an individual a sense of fulfillment by being recognized and “seen” for their true selves, but also creates an environment for people to do what they love and what comes natural to them, despite what their degree says.  People need to be challenged and celebrated on a regular basis and one powerful way is to find out what motivates and drives that person, then creating opportunities for them to thrive.  This makes people love to come to work every day leading to an environment of happy employees which equals happy customers and happy customers make your company more money. Period.

4.  Giving back ~ We mustn’t forget about the importance of giving back.  This component of the human-business model is widely important more on an energetic level that monetarily.  You’ve heard the saying, the more you give, the more you receive, right?  Well, that’s because if you can give it, you have it; its an “abundant” mentality as opposed to a “scarcity” mentality.  As we move into a more consciously evolved society, people are willing to spend their money with the company that gives back when given the choice between one that does and one that doesn’t.

For fun, lets take a deeper look at the human-business model from a Numerology perspective.  I believe Numerology is a tool that helps us humans navigate through life by providing us with clarity and a basic understanding of who we are.  Numerology is an ancient study of numbers, believed that each number (1-9) has its own energy vibration and matches the energy of the person who possesses that number.  Everyone came here with a purpose to fulfill and its written in your date of birth.

So to determine your “Destiny” or “Life Path” number, add your birth date up as such:  July 25, 1966 = 7+2+5+1+9+6+6 = 36 then adding 3+6 = 9.  The destiny number or “life path” number for the person with this birth date is a 9. Here are the characteristics of a Life Path 9 as it relates to a person’s natural gifts in the workplace.  There are 9 Life Path numbers so lets take a look and see if you can identify people you work with.

1 Life Path = The ultimate leader, an innovator, a pioneer, the independent thinker and problem-solver, someone who is willing to try new things, the “idea” person.  This person tends to work best individually and often takes charge in situations when no one else will.  Put the “1’s” on your team in a position to spear up new projects and watch them thrive.

2 Life Path = This is the master communicator.  2’s work extremely well with others, they are loyal and make great partners.  So if you are considering partnering people up, be sure to have a 2 in the mix.  They make great company spokespersons and can articulate the message in a way that is easily recieved.  Empower a 2 by asking them to deliver an agenda item at the next meeting.

3 Life Path = 3’s are the most creative of the numbers.  These are the folks to go to for creative solutions to problems or ways to impress that new client.  Although they think “out of the box” they are certainly “in the know” and can take on any creative challenge thrown their way.  They are unintentionally the center of attention and people enjoy being around these entertaining energies.  The well-liked 3’s are people-people and make great sales people and presenters.

4 Life Path = The 4’s of the group are numbers people and prefer a structured environment.  They have a natural tendency to understand the business world and have a passion for it.  They are extremely hard workers and you may recognize they won’t leave the office until the work is complete. If you have to reach a timeline, 4’s can generally make it happen all the while impacting the bottom line. 4’s have a natural attraction toward accounting, engineering and anywhere they can work with numbers.

5 Life Path = The energetic 5’s are adventurers, love change, like to travel and live life “out loud”.  5’s tend to get bored easily so be sure to give them ongoing challenges to inspire their imaginations and prevent them from getting bored, which they easily do. Perhaps that international trip would give them the sense of adventure they desire and feel fulfilled doing it, only to gain a new-found appreciation for their work.

6 Life Path = The 6’s of the group are the glue of any group.  These nurturers are the ones people tend to gravitate to for advice and wisdom.  6’s work naturally in their element in human resources since this is their expertise and are passionate about building harmonious communities and have a desire to make anyone feel like family.

7 Life Path = 7’s are the wise ones who have a knack for knowing just about everything there is to know.  They are a collector of knowledge and information and often are viewed as the “know-it-alls”.  They see things easily and usually have an understanding of any given situation prior to anyone else.  Seek the 7 for insights and counsel, they will feel appreciated for the opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise and you’ll always get a straight answer.

8 Life Path = These are the money-makers and the more generous an 8 path is with their wealth, the more wealth they become.  These money-conscious folks are the CEO-type thinkers, are natural leaders, managers and can see the big picture easily.  They make things happen, delegate well and always think in terms of value. Keep an 8 path on your side and refer to them often for making business decisions.

9 Life Path = 9’s are the ultimate humanitarian.  These are the people in the company that will create, implement and put into action the mission of making a difference in the world.  They feel deeply about people, animals and global issues.  Often, 9’s will take on the weight of the entire company even if they are an employee because they are passionate about everything they do.

I hope this information has expanded your awareness and opened up your mind to look at your work/life and the life/work balance of the people who operate it. The human-business is the wave of the future so take time to get to know your people.  Taking on this perspective of putting people first is the key to success for any business, any relationship and for the betterment of the world as a whole. Lets put into practice a model that serves humanity and drives prosperity for all.

Transparent-ing

He felt very distant and his words lacked the kind tone I have become accustomed to over the 15 years of his existence.  I have to admit, I was sad, and at the same time extremely curious.

So, rather than punishing him for “speaking to me in that tone” and responding with something along the lines of, “Because I am the mom and I said so!”  I decided to take this interesting opportunity and turn it into a teaching moment.  Little did I know I was the one who would be learning.  So, I took him out for ice cream.  Yes, we got in the car (desperate to create a captive audience) and began driving to the Dairy Queen on the other side of town (even though it was in the dead of winter, it worked!).  Oh and so I can be as authentic as possible, I deliberately and proudly left my ego at home so I could approach the situation from my heart and speak to him soul to soul.  Not an easy task for any adult, but I strongly felt this is a time for some “transparent-ing”

I began the conversation by saying, “Nick, you know you are my first and only child, right?”
He responded curiously with a long dragged out, “Yeeeesssss?”
I continued, “Well, then you probably realize I have never done this before, parented a teenager.”
I could hear his thoughts churning in his brain, wondering where I was heading with all this. I continued, “And so, I am wondering how you feel I am doing as a mom. I am honestly asking for feedback.  What would you change, and what do you feel I am doing well? This would really assist me in providing the most appropriate guidance for you through your teenage years. Basically, share with me, in your own words, what’s working and what isn’t.”

He sat silently for awhile (and as difficult as it was, so did I, as I could tell he was deeply processing the profound question) then he responded with something I wasn’t really prepared to hear.  But since I left my ego at home, I was open to receiving it.  He said, “Mom, I really hate it when you ask me to do something, then get mad when I don’t do it right then.  And you end up doing it yourself.  That makes me feel bad.  And it bugs me when you….And I wish you wouldn’t…..”

He really opened up to me, and I just listened, feeling so grateful for him having the courage to say the things he did with such honesty. See, I created a safe space for him vent and share his emotions and feelings without any judgement.  I was transparent and it allowed him to be as well. My intuition served me as I knew his behavior may have been caused by having an attitude directed toward me.  I thanked him for having the courage to speak his truth and let him know how much I appreciated his feedback.  I encouraged him to do the same when he is a dad because I found it very helpful.   We set crystal clear expectations and then made agreements on how we will deal with these circumstances in the future and to respect each others time so to avoid this type of miscommunication from happening again.

Then something unexpected and quite magical happened.  Nick started to pour out all the things he appreciates about me.  How much I do for him and how I am always there for him, I trust him, give him freedom, we have fun together and how much he has learned from me and on and on.  And for a mom, those words are like a symphony to our ears and the most beautiful, music to make any mother’s soul dance.  I was holding back the tears as I expressed my appreciation for once again sharing his truth and I said I would do my best to continue to be that mom for him.  And asked him to please remind me if I begin to get “off track”.  He said he would, and we sat and ate our ice cream together, over small talk, laughing and enjoying each other’s company as we always do.

For me, I chose to be a different type of parent.  I choose to converse rather than holler. I rather empower and praise the behaviors that serve my son well, rather than punish and threaten him if he doesn’t behave in the way I think he should.  I learned to set my expectations aside and allow him to find his own potential.  I did my best to make decisions that were in his best interest rather than what made me look like a good parent and stopped caring about what everyone else thought.  I tell him how much I appreciate him in my life often.  I recognize all the amazing natural gifts he has, nurture them and remind him every time I notice them so he can become aware and someday utilize them to make a difference.  I learn from him and thank him when I do. I have found this reinforces the behavior that I want him to practice and also best serves him to be the best person he could be. Focusing on the positive, breeds more positive behavior.

As parents, I believe we have to hold up the mirror every now and then and take a good look at ourselves.  I mean really look at what type of people we are creating for our future.  We often get so wrapped up in our own journeys and forget about this important societal responsibility.  Its time to create a new parenting paradigm,  what I call, “Transparenting”.  Do you recognize when those “old tapes” in the mind are playing from that parenting program that was downloaded when you were a child.  Is there something that didn’t serve you well that perhaps you are carrying over to your kids?  If so, the first step is to create the awareness, choose another way, then put it into practice immediately.

Our children are souls who came here just like you, to explore this journey called human life.  They chose you as their parent so that they may grow to become the grandest version of who they are.  You see, our children grow to be reflections of us and how they are treated.  We have the responsibility as grown adults to take ownership and be accountable for their behaviors.  Not only that, but we are also teaching them how to be parents themselves and so you are directly impacting our future generations.  They will emulate you and your parenting style.

Its not too late to make a shift, or change the way you parent your child.  It takes courage, honesty and most importantly, transparency to be who you are and relate to them on a soul level. You are here to guide them, set the path for them and then allow them to fly.  The teen age years, I am learning, are when they struggle with finding the courage and can’t seem to find the way to communicate the words, so they use their actions to try to tell us, “I am ready to take on the world and I require more freedom to do so”.  And although we see the growth in progress, learn to trust their abilities and let them go little by little.  By allowing them the opportunities to speak their minds and feelings to us as parents, we are only teaching them to speak their minds, practice having “courageous conversations” and stand up for themselves in a peer pressure situation too.

Since I relate everything to Numerology, I wanted to share this with you to perhaps help you along the trans-parenting journey.  When we are aware of the path and purpose our children came here to experience, parenting then takes on an entirely new meaning and you play a much more important role in their lives.  My son is a 22/4 path which means he has a choice to walk a Master Soul path (22) as well as the 4 path .  Its the difference between becoming a Master Builder in life, to serve humanity in some big way (Oprah Winfrey comes to mind) and the hardworking, business-minded, mathematical 4 Life Path where short cuts only serve as lessons and reminders that they have to take the necessary steps toward success. I often remind him as he prepares for college what he seems to enjoy most, what comes natural to him and what he has gravitated toward his entire life.  I help him recognize his God-given gifts and guide him accordingly.

Here is a great example of how this information can help parents…In Numerology, parenting can be improved if you understand the personality of your child, depending on your birth number. An example of this is when a father, who was taught to be masculine and strong, teaches his son that he should not cry. However, if he has a number 2 son, there will be problems with this line of thinking. Number 2 children tend to be overly emotional and sensitive. They keep their feelings hurt easily and they tend to cry often. The number 9 father may not understand this innate nature of his son and will always be hard on him and demand that he “be a man.”

I have come across a resource that shares some insightful perspectives on parenting styles as it relates to your Life Path as well as the Life Path of your children.  By adding the day of the month, will give you this, much simplified version, parenting report.  Of course a full report of yours and your child’s life path will give you much more information.  Knowing this information, can virtually change the outcome of that young soul’s life and be the catalyst that can change the world.  And your important role as a parent just may be your soul purpose too.

For those born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, or 28th of the month, your idea of a good parent is one who keeps his/her children safe physically. Be aware of the importance of protecting children emotionally. Allow your children to express themselves, and allow yourself to show emotionas well. If your children were born on dates adding up to a 1, 4, or 9, you will be likely to have a happy and harmonious relationship with your kids. Children born on 6 or 8 dates are more emotional and less likely to think through situations like yourself. This may cause some disagreements among you.
NUMBER 2 NUMEROLOGY PARENT
If you were born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, and 29th are usually very nurturing due to the relationship they have had with their own mothers. Children born on dates adding up to 2, 7, or 6 are more likely to be in harmony with you. The reverse is true if your children were born on dates adding up to a 9. Number 9 children tend to be more rebellious. Unlike your gentle nature. Children born under the number 8 are the next number to cause possible conflict.
NUMBER 3 NUMEROLOGY PARENTS
Those born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st, and 30th of the month, you’re considered a 3 parent. Any children born under 3, 6, or 9 may seem to tug on your heart. You are conflicted by your strong work ethic, but your strong tie to your family as well. If your child is born on a 4 or 5 date you will find yourself needing to devote more time and attention to this needy one. The 4 or 5 may also require more patience has they may tend to push your buttons a bit easier.
NUMBER 4 NUMEROLOGY PARENT
Number 4 people are those born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, or 31st of the month, those children born on dates adding up to 4, 1, or 5 are the ones you are less likely to reprimand. Your moodiness at times causes your children to misunderstand you. When you are feeling happy and in a good mood, use that opportunity to tell your kids you love them and our proud of them. If you have a child or two born under a 6 or 8, the balance of peace and harmony may be harder to achieve. The 6 child and 4 parent are similar and can be quite stubborn. Don’t let your tendencies toward pessimism discourage your 6 and 8 children. They need encouragement and praise in these formative years.
NUMBER 5 NUMEROLOGY PARENT
Being born on the 5th, 14th, or 23rd makes you a number 5 person. You deal with children well and you are flexible with them. Your children that are born on the 5th, 14th, and 23rd may be very much like you in the way they walk, talk and act. As is more likely with birth numbers adding up to 6 or 9. However, the children born under a 3 or 8 may seem like they are from another time and place from you. You will need to work harder to create understanding among you. Keep in mind they are your own flesh and blood and it’s critical to treat them with the same amount of understanding, love and encouragement.
NUMBER 6 NUMEROLOGY PARENT
Those born on the 6th, 15th, or 24th of the month are #6 parents. Like the number 2 parent, you are a nurturing parent and loving your children is a piece of cake. You are flexible no matter what birth day children may have, especially those born on dates that add up to 6, 2, or 3. Children born under 4 or 1 may sometimes confuse you. A number 4 child is usually harder to understand. They have a hard time explaining why they do what they do. You shouldn’t expect them to be as sociable and fun-loving as yourself, but do encourage 4 or 1 children to be the best they can be and allow them to take risks.
NUMBER 7 NUMEROLOGY PARENT
If your date of birth is the 7th, 16th, or 25th than you are a number 7 parent. Due to the fact that you value peace and serenity, parenting may be a challenge for you at times. For you, it seems that you will find better harmony as your children get older and more mature. If you have a 7, 2, or 6 child, they may require a great deal of your attention. Which may take time away from your other offspring. Those born under 8 or 9 may cause you greater worry. Because you tend to be keep you feelings inside be sure to let your children how important they are to you. Be honest with them in your love.
NUMBER 8 NUMEROLOGY PARENT
If your birthday is on the 8th, 17th, or 26th, you would be a number 8 parent. The 8 parent has a tendency toward being cold and hesitant.. If you find that to be you, you need to work hard at not showing this to your kids. You need to bring out the loving side of your nature. Children born on dates adding up to 8, 3, or 6 may be easier for you to pay attention to you, because they are more like you in many way. The opposite may occur with the 4, 5, and 1 children. You may find yourself more frustrated and less understanding with them. Give to your children without favoritism and you will never regret it. They will love you for it.
NUMBER 9 NUMEROLOGY PARENT
Were you born on the 9th, 18th, or 27th of the month? Then you are a number 9 parent. You are brave and adventurous and you desire that in your children. You find yourself encouraging them in the way you do. If any of your children share a 9 birth date, or are a number 1 or 3, you may not have reason to worry. However, you may just have a child that acts and thinks just the opposite as you do. Love your child for who they are and do your best to understand their nature.  If your child was born on a 2 or 7 date, don’t expect a strong and brave nature from them, especially if they’re boys. Let them develop in their own time and don’t scold them for making choices that are contrary to your nature. Give them room to grow.

Your Shift has Finally Come In!

This is a magical yet challenging time for human beings and especially those spiritually-awakened humans.  Those of us who are consciously aware of this energetic shift taking place are extremely sensitive to the impact it is having, not only on our planet, but on each of us emotionally, mentally, physically and energetically.  I am with you when you say, it hasn’t been an easy ride, although as souls, we anxiously stood in line to be here during this time, I have to admit, the ride has been quite bumpy at times.

Because Numerology has helped me develop a deep understanding of my life path, I feel great determination to remind you that you chose this time and chose a specific path as well, a destiny, to fulfill while on this planet.  Long ago, you decided to come here to make a difference for our human species.  You eagerly signed up with so much excitement and enthusiasm, you could hardly wait the 9 months to be born.  So let me ask you, how is your plan working out for you?  What do you recall about your grand purpose?  What do you see when you look in the mirror?  Is it a face of exhilaration and excitement?  Or is it one of confusion, doubt and despair?  Your choices are the only thing preventing you from achieving what you came here to be.  You have laid out a specific plan, an entire lifetime of ideas and creations and even encoded them into your birth date to help you remember it all.  Yes, sounded a bit crazy to me at first too, but you (perhaps your higher self) did choose the date of your human arrival and Numerology helps to explain why.

Numerology has been around for thousands and thousands of years.  The Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Hebrews, Egyptians, Phoenicians, early Christians, Mayans and Incas all employed number systems to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the universe.  And now you can understand the power of numbers in your life to guide you on your chosen path, help you understand the path of others and assist them in remembering theirs.  Its one of the most powerful tools for human development and spiritual understanding for it not only provides us with a blueprint of our lives, but also a road map of where we’ve been and where we are heading.

It was my life-long friend who introduced me to the power of numerology and her reading literally changed the course of my life.  I was heading down one path, one of anger and discontent;  feeling completely unfulfilled looking every direction for something to fill this void, fully knowing I am here to accomplish something, but not having a clue what it was.

The information she shared with me was so enlightening, so liberating, I literally cried.  It was as if God was sitting there reminding me of the mission we both planned prior to this life.  It was clearly the essence of all that I am and she so eloquently described the precise vision I had always had of myself to the “T”.  This numerology reading explained everything from my relationship choices to my career choices.  It fully explained the timeline of my life and the events I clearly chose for myself, only to try to wake me up and remind me to get back on my path.  I am telling you again, you came here with a plan, with gifts and a deliberate intention to follow it.  What was evident to me is that although I planned out some turning points for myself, I have used the gift of my own free will to choose how I will get there and when.  You see, it doesn’t matter how or when you get to your turning point, because no matter what path you choose, you will end up there.  In other words, you may think to yourself, “I wish I would have made another choice.”  The truth is, what ever choices you make are just one of the options you gave yourself to choose from with your free will.

As long as you can appreciate and honor your choices and know that they are all part of your Divine plan, you will continue to gain clarity and be gently guided toward your purpose. It is no longer necessary for you to fear what you came here to do. Trust that the Universe will deliver what is already yours. Its fail-proof, its in your numbers.  You chose all of it so embrace it.  Being an enlightened human comes with responsibility;  one that requires you to have the courage to open the door to the unknown and be strong enough to hold that door open for others to walk through behind you.  Each of us are here on a mission to help guide humanity and the sooner we remember, the sooner we will be free.

So, here’s how it works…add up your birth date as follows.  For example, if your birthday is August 21, 1955, then you would add 8-21-1955 like this:  8+2+1+1+9+5+5 = 31, then add 3+1 = 4.  This person’s life path is 4.   I have listed a brief description of each life path.  (Resource:  Mary Herter)   See for yourself if your own birth date tells you a little something about who you chose to be while you’re here.

Are Your Relationships Accelerating Your Journey?

bus-photos-dot-com
The people in your life are merely passengers on the bus of your journey, they can make the ride super enjoyable  or make it pure torture.  How are the people in your life helping you navigate toward your destination? Taking time to look at your relationships from another perspective may provide you a shortcut, a more direct route and smooth the road to your success. Read on to discover the compatibility of each person in your life.

Going from “Nowhere to Knowing” has everything to do with who you surround yourself with, the network of people you associate with and recognizing the quality they bring to your life.  Certainly, your closest relationships will have an impact on your life journey.  They will either support you, believe in you and provide a source of encouragement or they do everything in their power to keep you small by tearing down your ideas, creating more struggle and dis-empowering you.  The idea here is to create an awareness of the relationships in your life and know you have a choice to either keep that passenger along your side or perhaps decide to let them off the bus.  This is not to say you have to remove them entirely from your life, you just may be better off visiting them from time to time when passing through. Building stronger, purposeful relationships by simply understanding the people around you, knowing the role they play and setting clear boundaries can truly accelerate your journey.

If you are serious about taking your life to the next level, then its time to evaluate your relationships and measure the value they bring into your life.  Measuring the strengths and weaknesses of your relationships is an important step in aligning yourself with the highest vision you have of who you are and where you desire to be. Knowing the purpose they serve is equally important. What lessons or messages have they brought you? Have you ever wondered why you get along with certain people and not others? Why certain relationships last and others don’t?  Or why relationships seem to just “grow apart”? Perhaps this will help explain a few things…

I have found some amazing tools along my journey from Nowhere to Knowing, that assist me in creating an awareness that guides me toward a deeper understanding of myself and my relationship to life itself.  Numerology is one tool I found to be a fascinating practice, an art really, to defining your life path, gain a better understanding of people in your life and determining the compatibility between you and your close relationships. When your life path is in alignment with another, it flows, but when it isn’t, it can be very challenging.  Knowing your “numbers” can heal a broken relationship or strengthen a great one. This is especially helpful when entering a romantic relationship, business partnership or if you just want to have a better understanding of the people in your life. So lets take a look.

In Numerology, the most important number to look at in relationships, especially romantic relationships, is your Life Path number. However, taking into account the vast collection of numbers in each individual’s Numerology chart, this is by no means the only number to consider, so the compatibility descriptions that follow should not be taken as the final word.

First, you’ll need to determine your Life Path number.  Calculate your Life Path number, then calculate the life path of your significant other or anyone of interest, simply by adding the numbers of your entire birth date.  For example:  Someone with a birth date of June 23, 1966, would add the numbers as such:  6+2+3+1+9+6+6 = 33, 3+3 = 6 life path.

Note: For the purposes of evaluating relationships, master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are reduced to 2, 4 and 6 respectively.  More on the topic of Numerology will be sprinkled throughout my future blogs.

Although having your Life Path in alignment is a very good start to a healthy relationship there are many factors to consider when deciding if your partner is indeed your soul mate or an ideal business associate.  In my research for the most comprehensive information on relationship compatibility, I found Michael McClain (Resource: Astrology-Numerology.com) to be spot on.  Here are the compatible numbers for each life path and the possibilities for each combination:

1 and 1: Two people with a strong desire to lead, and, two people who want very much to be independent. Two 1s in a relationship understand and accept each other perhaps better than any other number can understand the 1. This is a relationship not without pitfalls as the match can get dicey when they start to compete. But for the most part, it is a good one filled with excitement and activity.

1 and 2: Two very different people who do well if they remember their roles. The 1 is best equipped to be the breadwinner, and the 2 will be the one to feather the nest and keep the warmth of romance alive and well. The 1 must avoid being distracted and never forget how important attention is for the 2 partner.

1 and 3: This is a very lively couple that seem to shamelessly enjoy life and each other. The 3 is good at acknowledging the 1 accomplishments and stroking the ego. The 3 provides the ideas and the 1 provides the push, so this couple can cover a lot of ground. Yet they have to be careful about what they say since neither handles criticism very well.

1 and 4: 4’s desire for control is a tough sell on the 1. The 1’s need to make things happen now, frustrates the meticulous 4. Opposites in many ways, these two should not expect easy compromise. If they ever can accept one another for who they are, their respective strengths will make a solid relationship.

1 and 5: This is a very compatible combination as both of these numbers are ones that like to have a lot of freedom in a relationship. The drive for independence is paramount for each. They may be so busy with their own “thing” that time together is limited, very special, and often exciting. As you might expect, the most serious threat is when either tries to impose his or her will on the other.

1 and 6: This is a power struggle waiting to happen. The 6 wants and needs to a caretaker. The 1 has an absolute need to be independent and unrestrained. This can be a successful pairing only if they can work past this roadblock, and give each other the support they both need.

1 and 7: These are very different energies but ones that somehow blend nicely. The 7 provides wise insights while the 1 becomes a needed motivator. The key is to understand the tendencies; the 1 can get too busy with the outer world to always be there for the 7, and the 7 can be too into their own world to be there for the 1. Neither should take this absence personally.

1 and 8: From a business standpoint, this is a good match. But from the love angle, it is questionable at best. Both are so assertive and demanding, that expectations can far exceed reality. Negative feedback from either will be deadly in this pairing. Success depends on a open and mutual willingness to compromise and limit demands.

1 and 9: The 9 brings a selflessness to the relationship which allows the 1 to operate in an environment that is understanding and smooth flowing. The 1 will have to learn to share the partner who is inclined to extend a giving nature outside the home. If there is trouble in this partnership it will generally come from the 9s difficulty tolerating the 1’s assertive and individualistic behavior.

2 and 2: A great match of two souls both needing to give and receive love. Experts at mediation, they have little difficulty finding common ground on just about any issue that arises. The only word of caution for this pairing is that they must each remember how thin their own skin is so as to not cause verbal injury to the other. Generally this is not a problem because of their polite manner and mutual respect.

2 and 3: These are potentially very good partners because of the good humor and good chemistry. The 3 is always “on stage” and full of life and social energy, while the 2 is happy as a lark standing back and enjoying the show. The 2 balances the needs of the 3 by providing a soothing and calming influence.

2 and 4: This is a steady pairing resulting in comfort personified. When it comes to home and family, the 4 is the ultimate builder and provider. Security is 4’s forte. Nothing is more appealing to the 2 than home, hearth, and family. The only difficulty likely here is one of perception. The 2 needs love to be shown and always physically apparent, and the 4 is sometimes not so demonstrative.

2 and 5: The 2 needs family and an ever present sense of being loved, and the 5 need total freedom to pursue whatever avenues appear on the horizon. This is one where the chemistry has to be very strong in order for the two very different souls to forge some significant compromises. Obviously, these two can provide a lot that may otherwise be missing, but it won’t be an easy road.

2 and 6: This is another good love match. The 6 ranks first in family while the 2 tops the chart in love and caring. Still the pair need to watch their Ps and Qs as the 6 has a surprising need for approbation, and 2’s thin skin can suffer with the direct and demanding approach that sometimes characterizes the 6. Considerations of feelings is a must.

2 and 7: This is a couple that has some strong and dissimilar needs. The 2’s need for demonstrative love and 7’s need for a good deal of space and solitude make this a pairing that will work only if both can stay tuned in to the other’s needs and be willing to cater to them at least to some degree. Generally the 2 will have to find something to occupy much of the time that would otherwise be devoted to the mate.

2 and 8: A pairing that usually works very well because it is likely that each has a clear vision of their role. The 8 is about the outer world of business and attainment, taking care of the financial needs of the family. The 2 takes care of the family and is there to pamper the ego of their partner. A pitfall in this relationship can occur if the 8 fails to sufficiently value the labors of the 2. Generally, this is the classic traditional family model, or in the case of the male 2, female 8, the classic male/female role reversal.

2 and 9: These two can have a wonderful relationship or it can be not so wonderful. The 2 needs constant attention, and certainly the 9 is a caring individual. But the care they naturally possess is spread to all humanity and often it is not focused enough at home. The 9 is a natural leader and the 2 is a natural follower, so there is always hope. The 9 needs to remember that the 2 hates to be alone, and the 2 needs to be forewarned that the 9’s love will only stretch so far.

3 and 3: Wild and interesting describes this pairing of two with so much creative and social potential. No one has more fun that a pair of 3s who understand and support one another. The question may become who is going to take care of the mundane. The pitfall of this relationship comes when neither partner can hold on to reins of practical everyday details.
3 and 4: When the spontaneous 3 pairs with the micro-manager 4, something has to give, and often it won’t. The 3 will take each day as it comes while the 4 has to have a definite plan far into the future. If the two can ever figure out how to meet in the middle, they will do a good job of balancing each other’s shortcomings. The 3 will show the 4 how to have fun while the 4 can give the 3 a needed sense of security.

3 and 5: This is one of the most social combination you will find. The two will generally find each other very interesting and their ability to entertain will be never ending. Social opportunities, travel, and numerous activities promise this relationship won’t get boring. Both are creative by nature, yet neither excels at managing the budget, so everyday affairs can cause problems sometimes.

3 and 6: This is a natural combination that works well in most cases. The 3 is full of enthusiasm and ideas, and the 6 provides the stability, support, and encouragement that often makes this combination an idea team in many ways. The chemistry here is very strong and durable. The challenge of this combination can come in the form of 6 jealous feelings toward the oft flirtatious 3. Usually it will be the 6 who will have to learn to deal with an inborn trait.

3 and 7: These two are about as different as people get. The 3 wants to be constantly on the go with a swirl of activity, travel, and social contact that the 7 will find intolerable. The 7 needs solitude and can only take so much human contact before retreating to their preferred peace and quiet. Confrontation in this pairing never works well, and it will be up to both to understand the long-term need for compromise. The key to success here is open dialog regarding wants, needs, and goals.

3 and 8: This is a combination that requires extra effort mostly because of the departure of needs. The 8 needs goals and authority to feel happy, and efforts focused here leave the 3 without needed attention and stimulation. The secret to success in this combination, if there is one, is frequent getaways; periods when the 3 gets the 8 away from business and relaxed enough to have some fun. There isn’t much frivolity in the 8, and this can sometimes be a tough sale.

3 and 9: This is a wonderful combination of two people who are apt to keep each other endlessly engaged in a variety of creative ways. Both like to be on stage and both are interested in people. They care about people and the 9 can be generous to a fault. The 9 is the teacher and the 3 is the ever eager student. Sharing experience is a never ending joy of this pairing. The problem the couple faces is settling down, feathering a nest, and keeping the bills paid. Even after they are settled and set, romantic adventures will always be important.

4 and 4: The keywords for this combination are solid and secure. For individuals who need to know that the bills are paid and future is totally secure, who better to fill this need than another 4. These two will share goals that they work for and nearly always achieve. Success is measured by a sense that growth is continual and this includes love and romance. The down side of this pairing, if there is one, is the sense that nothing is ever completely okay. It’s hard to relax , be spontaneous, and enjoy the moment and each other. Nonetheless, there are few relationships destined to be more stable than this one.

4 and 5: Challenge. The 4 and the 5 have different temperaments and different ways of communicating. The 4 is very direct to the point, while the 5 will be more diplomatic and indirect. 4s don’t like change, and 5s have to have it. To find success, this couple will need to respect the difference and pay attention to what is said and what is inferred.

4 and 6: A comfortable match of traditional types, this pairing has promise from the very beginning. Chances are the 6 will want to take the lead in this relationship, and a secure home and family are all that is needed to produce a satisfying long-term situation. The challenge of this relationship is compromise. Neither is very good at this.

4 and 7: This is a relationship that has a serious tone about it and may be driven by a mutual need for security. It is loyal and devoted, even it it may lack the fire and passion of some combinations. The 4 is a natural provider of rock solid security and home values. The 7 provides a quest for continued mental development and adventure. The combination makes life both secure and yet more interesting for both.

4 and 8: This is a comfortable pairing because both parties understand hard work and have a good head for business and getting ahead in the world. The 4 is the cautious planner, while the 8 has a more grandiose approach to endeavors. The only problem probably can be one of finding the time to spend together in a quest for romance. Yet this is a couple that knows how to build for the future and develop a very secure relationship.

4 and 9: These two are so very different that successful pairings are rare. The 9 is far more social and fosters deep humanitarian instincts. The 4 is focused on the basics of building a secure and solid immediate world. To succeed in a relationship requires both to be aware of how different their approaches are, and somehow muster a willingness to accept. The 4 will certainly appreciate the 9’s knowledge and intelligence, and the 9 must likewise value the 4’s ruthless consistency.

5 and 5: A pair of 5s is a very compatible couple who prize their freedom to be different and adventuresome. Few others will be as open to the constant flow of new ideas and changes so common in the 5. In this relationship, partners easily anticipate what the other is thinking and where they are going. And they also have a sense for staying out of the way and accepting the freewheeling lifestyle. 5s choosing to support one another can do just about anything. The difficulty with this pairing is focus, and there may be a problem handling the mundane day-to-day affairs.

5 and 6: This is a combination requiring great compromise since the 5 thrives on freedom and space, and the 6 is noted for exerting control and nurturing supervision. The 6 wants complete commitment, and the 5 is looking for adventure and new horizons. In a relationship, they would probably be good for each other if they could find a way to meet somewhere near the middle. They must avoid any tendency to become entrenched in positions that just won’t work for the other.

5 and 7: This is a relationship which is more or less free of rules and procedures. In some ways, these two are much alike and the relationship is generally very compatible. The 7 values the time to be alone and enjoy the world of study and reflection in their private space. At the same time, the 5 has plenty going on and appreciates not having demands for attention being the paramount feature of the relationship. Yet these two can get together and find a never ending stream of mutual interests to discuss and explore.

5 and 8: This is a relationship between two individuals who don’t always follow the rules, and they might find themselves locking horns on the rules of a relationship. The 8 is used to being the boss and dominating most situations. The 5 seeks freedom from any restraints. The 8 is focused on success, particularly in a financial sense, and the 5 doesn’t even want to think about money. It will take careful planning and compromise to make this relationship work.

5 and 9: This is a relationship between two who may find it hard to work the relationship into their busy schedules. Both of these numbers represent people who are apt to be in a constant state of transition and change. In this regard they have much in common and will generally find each other very interesting, for the moment or for the long haul. The compassion of the 9 and progressive thinking of the 5 seems to blend well. Establishing a commitment to security is a must.

6 and 6: This is a combination charged with romance, but in essence it is rather practical by nature. Home and family is second nature here, and these will be the top priorities for sure. This is a very compatible pairing. The 6 knows what’s best for their partner, so they do a good job of taking care of each other, and a family is a must. Yet the 6 by its nature wants the whole family under his/her thumb, so the challenge may be in agreeing who is going to be charge. The circumstances of the relationship will usually be able to sort this out.

6 and 7: These are two very different people with very different ideas about a relationship. The 6 is openly interested in a permanent situation complete with a stable home and family. With the secretive 7, it is hard to tell what the goal might be, and only time will tell. Despite the sexual attraction that may be present, this is a very challenged combination. The 6 is too controlling, and the 7 just isn’t to be closely managed. The compromises required in this relationship really bend and manipulate the natural traits of both numbers.

6 and 8: This is a very positive and compatible relationship of two who are usually open and positive in most that they do. This is a couple with big ideas, and their ideas are usually brought to reality in grand fashion. The home will provide plenty of space for family, work, and frequent entertaining of their many friends. A down side to the relationship can occur if the possessive 6 has to compete too much with the business interests of the 8. Likewise, the 8 will be frustrated when the demands at home cramp the executive lifestyle and obligations.

6 and 9: This is generally a very compatible relationship prospect as the 9 is one of the few numbers to gain 6’s utmost respect. In a family situation, the 6 is unsurpassed as a manager, and the 9 is never reticent in heaping praise in recognition. This often creates a mutual admiration environment that provides a happy home for both partners. The 6 helps the 9 stay focused on details and common sense issues, while the 9 broadens the 6’s outlook and sense of the world at large. The expansiveness of this pairing may suggest the need to keep a close eye on the budget.

7 and 7: This is one situation in which no one understands the eccentricities of a 7 nearly as well as another 7. Thus, this is a very compatible pairing. With the right attitude, this couple will find the interest to freely explore the world together, or spend their days in happy solitude together. Chances are you are on the same psychic wavelength, so you will surely catch the signals as they flash by. The downside of this pairing is the tendency to not communicate, so an effort may have to be made to keep the lines open and operating.
7 and 8: This is a combination that seems to work well physically, but one which is plagued with problems on the emotional level. The 8 has a tendency to dominate and control, and the 7 is a very private person prone to resist attempts to exert authority. The power of both numbers can result in frequent verbal battles. Yet there is a stability factor in the pairing that makes long-term success a possibility if accommodations can be reached.

7 and 9: This couple is anything but neutral in their affiliation. They are listed neutral because the relationship can go either way depending largely on spiritual beliefs. Both have strong spiritual inclinations and deeply held positions. However, these views of the spiritual and God often divide along rigidly held lines. In such cases, compromise is usually not an option. When the spiritual positions are in harmony, this can be a very compatible combination.

8 and 8: This pairing might be known as the “Dynamic Duo” as this is a combination that is full of passion and romance. Indeed, this pairing is a strong and enduring match- up. Yet both partners will be easily distracted by the events in their life as goals and professional demands often supersede romantic possibilities. Solid as the relationship probably is, the couple may have a hard time communicating the depth of feeling in either word or deed. Guard against competing with one another, and getting caught up in schedules and the demands of work. Make time for each other and always focus on being equal partners.

8 and 9: This is a challenging combination in which two highly motivated individuals – motivated in very different ways – find it hard to accept the ways of the other. In general the goals of the 9 are lofty and may have a humanitarian bend, while the 8 seeks the reward that comes with development of leadership and material success. To have much of a chance, the 8 will have to appreciate the lessons that can be learned from their generous partner. When they are able to work as a team, this is a powerful and often inspirational pair. Too often, however, the combination fails to click.

9 and 9: This relationship has much promise as it usually engages two charismatic types possessing much intellectual stimulation. The nature of the 9 is selfless, so this combination usually faces few challenges; each wanting to please the other and always be there for each other. A relationship offering the opportunity to grow, learn, and serve, this is often an inspiring combination.
